SCHEDULE: 35 hours per week scheduled Monday through Saturday. This includes approximately 25 hours of clinical contact.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time, tenure track position. The clinical educator is an attending physician responsible for maintaining a chiropractic practice in which interns are engaged for the purpose of mastering clinical skills and obtaining clinical practice experience. The clinical educator provides and supervises patient care and trains and assesses interns during chiropractic practice in the university health clinic. The clinical educator is responsible for the ongoing academic and clinical development of interns as well as the quality and safety of patient care provided under his/her licensure. Schedule dictated by program needs as determined by the Assistant Dean and Dean of the DC Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide and supervise quality, evidence-informed patient care.
Evaluate intern performance, conduct formative and summative intern qualitative assessments, and provide verbal and written feedback to interns on an ongoing basis.
Engage in creation and administration of clinical internship assessment activities and exercises.
Develop and maintain appropriate doctor-patient relationships.
Develop and maintain collaborative, professional relationships to support inter-disciplinary patient management and referrals.
Engage interns in practice management and practice development activities.
Engage in community presentations, Campus Health Center support activities, and clinical internship support activities.
Participate in the ongoing development of “virtual cases” for the purpose of intern education.
Maintain appropriate records in accordance with applicable university policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
Participate in workshops and training sessions as required.
Teach appropriate clinical classes in the program as requested by the program dean and agreed to by the faculty.
Other Duties
Participate in department meetings, committee meetings (as assigned), Faculty Senate, and other forums convened to discuss university interests.
Participate in the program projects such as the CSPE protocols and CSA and CEA exams as assigned by clinical internship administration.
Remain current in one's field of specialization and attend professional meetings.
Engage in research and/or scholarly activities associated with areas of interest and expertise.
Adhere to pertinent university policies.
Assist or consult with government, accreditation and/or professional credentialing organizations as appropriate.
Adhere to all federal HIPAA and FERPA requirements, plus those standards established by UWS, for protecting the security and privacy of patient health data and student records.
Adhere to all state & federal OSHA regulations.
Other duties as assigned by the associate dean or program dean.

REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Training & Experience)
Doctor of chiropractic degree with Oregon chiropractic license in good standing or eligible to obtain Oregon license quickly.
Current CPR/AED/First aid Certificate
Minimum of three years of experience in clinical practice (five or more years preferred.)
