 General Description 
 Reporting to the Dean of Clinical Education, the Instructor - Clinical Educator/IPE is primarily responsible for delivering clinical education and developing/overseeing opportunities for student IPE. The position is a full-time faculty appointment requiring service to the College divided primarily among teaching, scholarship and service, as well as some administrative duties. 
 Organizational Relationships 
 
 Reports primarily to the Dean of Clinical Education for duties related to clinical education and secondarily to the Assistant Vice President for Chiropractic for duties related to interprofessional education in the non-patient care portion of the curriculum. 
 Collaborates with faculty, staff and students within the chiropractic program. 
 Collaborates with the Clinical Educator Coordinator. 
 
 Specific Duties and Responsibilities 
 
 Issue quantitative and qualitative credits and provide feedback to students regularly per assigned duties. 
 Monitor student assessments and assign remediations for labs, Round Robins, Radiology and Metacompetencies. 
 Conduct exam preparations for Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), Clinical Competencies Exams (CCEs), and National Board Exams (NBCE) as needed. 
 Conduct Round Robin sessions. 
 Prepare reports for and conduct assigned 5- and 10-week mentor meetings. 
 Review student developed materials and content and oversee the evaluation/assessment of outreach events. 
 As educational lead for the Seneca Falls site, provides oversight of all chiropractic student educational experiences per all HCA and CLS course syllabi and course requirements, including but not limited to: scheduling, orientation, lectures, patient care, quantitative and qualitative assessment, evaluation, and submission of course grade.&#xa0; 
 Participate in Department meetings and mandatory professional development activities. 
 Oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism and compliance with Department standards. 
 Identify and develop opportunities for students to experience IPE in all clinical locations in conjunction with the administrator at each site. 
 Work with the Dean of Clinical Education to develop and expand assessment methods that meet the course objectives related to IPE and CCE meta competencies. 
 Development of an annual or biannual IPE education symposium. 
 Develop a Professional Development Plan in conjunction with the Dean of Clinical Education. 
 Participate on College committees and task forces as assigned. 
 Promote and enforce both Department and College policies and procedures. 
 Maintain active involvement with professional, national and state organizations important to clinical and educational responsibilities. 
 Other duties as assigned.

 Verbal and written communications/feedback with Dean of Clinical Education, faculty, staff and students. 
 Compliance with College&#8217;s policies. 
 Annual performance evaluations by the Dean of Clinical Education.

 Basic proficiency in PC use and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and willingness to learn/use additional software platforms used for electronic health records and student education.

 Perform all services expected of a licensed clinician and exhibit responsible clinical judgement. 
 Occasional travel may be required. 
 
 Education, Training and Experience 
 
 Doctor of Chiropractic degree. 
 Appropriate professional licensure to practice in New York State. 
 Post-graduate degrees, diplomates and certificates are preferred. 
 Ongoing professional development is expected.

 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:&#xa0; 
 Members of the faculty are responsible for the instruction of the curriculum and the assessment of student learning. Faculty also advance the mission of the institution through their work in the areas of research and scholarly activities and citizenship in accordance with the parameters of the Faculty Handbook. 
 POSITION DESCRIPTION: 
 Full-time faculty position with teaching responsibilities in one or a combination of the departments of foundational sciences, clinical sciences, principles of healthcare practice, integrated chiropractic therapies, or health centers. Teaching responsibilities in the health centers includes management of patient care. 
 ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 
 Responsible to the Assistant Vice President for Chiropractic for all aspects of the educational program. Responsible to the Dean of Clinical Education and Assistant Dean of Clinical Education for all clinical responsibilities. 
 RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 General 
 The faculty consists of all individuals in the employ of Northeast College holding academic rank and engaged in instructional, scholarly and professional, or academic service activities for the College. These activities include, but are not limited to: laboratory, classroom, online, and health center instruction; work of professional librarians; course and curriculum development; research; participation in student advising, enrollment management functions, College governance; and service to one&#8217;s profession. 
 Teaching 
 
 Each instructor is responsible for planning and presenting course material; establishing course objectives and requirements and communicating them to students; selecting and ordering texts and supplemental materials; preparing, administering and grading papers and examinations; and assigning grades without discrimination, in accordance with the nondiscrimination policy as it appears in the College catalog. 
 Specific responsibilities include providing students with appropriate, current course material consistent with the overall curriculum; assuring student comprehension and competency; and providing unbiased outcome assessments. 
 Demonstrates mastery of the following characteristics and traits: command and analytical approach to subject matter, recognition and evaluation of variant interpretations of appropriate data, and integration of current knowledge within the field into traditionally accepted subject matter. 
 Clearly explain expectations and subject matter, recognize student levels of comprehension, define objectives, summarize major points, organize material logically, and emphasize important ideas. 
 Encourage student participation and interaction, be sensitive to class response, deal with students ethically, allot ample time for consultation, and seek a professional rapport with students. 
 Motivate and academically challenge students, be dedicated to subject material and the teaching profession, display self-confidence, and communicate a sense of enthusiasm for pursuit of knowledge. 
 Faculty must be prepared and willing to academically assist, advise and counsel students regarding their work in classes and to recognize when a student requires professional assistance with problems of a personal or academic nature so that professional help can be obtained. 
 As a Faculty Clinician, adhere to policies and procedures for delivering patient care at your assigned health center site. 
 
 Research and Scholarly Activities 
 Activities in this area are typically project-oriented: basic science or clinical research, authorship of a book or journal article, and scholarly media productions within one&#8217;s area of expertise.

 Citizenship takes many forms, depending upon individual interests, and all faculty are encouraged to lend their talents to benefit the College community, the professional and/or academic community, and the local community. 
 QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
 Possess an earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the field in which they are teaching from an accredited institution. 
 License to practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic in New York State for teaching clinical science subjects, e.g. CLS, DIA, and TCH courses. 
 Faculty who supervises clinical experiences must possess a license to practice in any jurisdiction where they are assigned. 
 A demonstrated aptitude for teaching health science students. 
 Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to function in a team. 
 Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

								<description>Amherst, Massachusetts,  Atkinson Family Practice is looking to hire a chiropractor to replace our current chiropractor who has been here for 5 years and is leaving in May. We are looking for someone with a similar skillset and evidence based approach, combining soft tissue work, rehabilitative exercise and chiropractic care and working effectively with an evidence based approach alongside our medical staff and other specialists to help care for our large patient base. The right candidate will need to be comfortable working independently as they will be the only chiropractor at the practice, but also communicating with and managing care alongside our primary care team, acupuncturist, behavioral health specialists, physical therapist and nutritionist.&#xa0; 
 Our current chiropractor has built a large patient base with a specialty in sports medicine, however there is opportunity to see lots of pregnancy and postpartum patients as we are a family medicine practice.&#xa0; 
 Visit times have been 30 minutes for follow ups and 1 hour for new patients with a 4 day work week split between our two offices in Northampton and Amherst, seeing on average between 50-60 patients per week. We are open to somewhat shorter visit times, however we are looking for someone to spend time with patients and provide comprehensive care, not a high volume practitioner.&#xa0; We are open to a new graduate or experienced practitioner. 
 A qualified candidate will have: 
 -Active DC license in MA 
 -Evidence based approach 
 -Ideally experience working in a multidisciplinary setting 
 -Combination of soft tissue (ideally ART) and exercise prescription knowledge 
 -Strong communication skills Salary is negotiable</description>
